Green Advantage Training
May 17, 2008 Kingsborough Community College together with the Brooklyn Economic and Development
Corporation facilitated the first Green Advantage Training in New York City. The training is a one day workshop
course that covers the principles of sustainable design, building systems and construction. Green Advantage is the
nation's only green certification for contractors recognized by the US Green Building Council. It is targeted to women,
minority-owned (MWBE) contractors, and other small business contractors with fewer than 50 employees. Green Advantage
certified construction teams can qualify for one LEED® Innovation Credit, which can lead to tax incentives and other competitive advantages.

6th Annual IVE Leadership Program Finals: A Piece of the Dream Wins First Place!
May 28, 2008 - CUNY IVE held its sixth annual Leadership Final Competitive Event at the Trustee's Lounge
on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Nine teams composed of 18 students from seven CUNY campuses delivered
engaging presentations, which were the products of an intense, semester-long preparation. Projects were presented

Accessible New York Takes It to the City Streets!
The restaurants, theaters, and hotels of New York City will be the subject of a critical gaze over the next few weeks as CUNY students eye them for their accessibility to people with disabilities. On May 15th, members of the Accessible New York Team from the Institute for Virtual Enterprise attended a training session at the CUNY Center for Student Affairs, where Professor Jesse Lore guided them from the conceptual conversations online to the practical implementation of the project in the real world.
