Student Startups
Since its inception, the Institute for Virtual Enterprise (IVE) has been fostering student
engagement in social entrepreneurship and community related projects through its Annual CUNY/IVE Social Entrepreneurship Program
as well as its IVE Entrepreneurship Boot Camp. Both programs teach students how to run, manage, and measure the performance
of a real company and go through the process of identification of an entrepreneurial idea to actual implementation of their venture.
Through the IVE Summer Incubator Program students get access to the resources and funds needed to start their own companies.
IVE is proud to present a list of companies that have gone from virtual to real:

Launched in September 2005, Portefolio Magazine Online allows students to post and build
their ePortfolios for free. With this innovative approach, students
can also read featured articles and browse related career links and
materials. A new online issue of Portfolio Magazine Online will be
posted every three months, debuting in January, April, July, and
October. Each issue will highlight a new student on the front cover,
a new feature article interviewing a talented individual about their
journey to success, and a brand new Top Ten, which features ten outstanding
portfolios. PMO took birth as a project in the IVE Entrepreneurship
Boot Camp.
