  Random House Career Opportunities

On Wednesday, March 5th, IVE co-hosted a special event with Random house Inc. at their namesake building in Manhattan. The event, hosted by a panel of executives including the book publishing company's CEO Peter Olson, acted as an open forum for college students and recent graduates interested in joining Random House as interns or Associates. The highly successful event was attended by an estimated 60 students from various college campuses throughout the city and was an excellent opportunity for students to meet one another, network and discuss internship and job search strategies.

Held in a conference room high above Manhattan, the panel emphasized the untraditional corporate culture that the company maintains and the many incentives it offers to its employees. Among the benefits discussed for new interns and hires is a focus on fluidity in career paths among the company's many departments. To do this, the company has committed to ensuring that all employees explore their career interests within the company through mentoring programs, open discussions with executives in the different departments, and transparency in the work and projects of those departments. In addition to internships, the company offers an Associates program which rotates participants through all the departments in the span of one year to give its potential employee an opportunity to learn more about the company and it's units.
