On Tuesday, May 6, 2008, nearly 20 students gathered at Baruch
College, Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship for a Career
Exploration Roundtable featuring Harvard alumnus and aspiring attorney
Robert Gee, and Baruch senior and MLB (Major League Baseball) intern
Maritza Alarcon. The conversation began with introductions and
updates by student leaders.
Gee and Alarcon then spoke about how to best explore and pursue individual career interests. Gee shared anecdotes about his own path,
and Alarcon revealed how she leveraged her experience at the Harvard
Business School Summer Venture Management Program to ultimately land
an internship with MLB and subsequent fellowship offer with the Boston
Red Sox.
Participating students exchanged information about their projects,
goals and activities. The session offered valuable networking
opportunities for all who attended.
