The CUNY Institute for Virtual Enterprise is proud to invite virtual companies from all over the world can
take their businesses public within the virtual enterprise network. The recent economic developments highlight the importance
of teaching our students the principles of the stock market,its economic importance and how to make the right investment choices.
Participating students can explore major stock markets (such as Nasdaq, American Stock Exchange, NYSE) and test investment strategies
in a safe environment without real life consequence. The event will be hosted by and coordinated through Kingsborough Community College,
CUNY. Participating firms do not have to be physically present and may can also present via distance. To participate in the IPO Conference
on November 19, 2008 and subsequent Company Competition you will have to:
- Sign up your company by sending an email to cwinkler@kbcc.cuny.edu (by November 3, 2008).
After your sign up, you will receive a username and password to access your corporate account (http://www.ivefinancial.com/)
so that you will be able to submit the IPO Prospectus/Request to the IVE Central Bank. You will also receive the conference
call info and link to our online presentation via GoToMeeting.com.
- IPO Prospectus/Request submission online (by November 10, 2008). The interface will prompt you to upload your
logo and company description/mission, list your products,
and balance sheet, as well as indicate a corporate partner and industry that you want to tie your stock to.
- IPO Presentation(November 19, 2008): At our IPO event, every Virtual Enterprise will have two minutes to present their
company's business and their financials. The presentations will be done via PowerPoint (three slides max!!) and GotoMeeting.com.
After your presentation our chairman of the IVE Bank will assess your company and, hopefully, will approve your IPO request.
After his approval your company will immediately be listed on our IVE Ticker (http://www.ive.cuny.edu/).
- Company Trading (starting November 21, 2008): After all companies have successfully gone through their IPO, trading will begin and all firms
will start buying and selling stock. There will be a competitive event attached to this process. Rules and guidelines
will be distributed on November 8th. There will also be a follow up Student Competition as well as a Conference in spring 2009.
The Student Stock Market Competition will start on February 1, 2009. Students from all
over the world are welcome to participate in the student component of the IVE Stock Market Competition.
Upon sign-up students will receive a trading budget to invest in the virtual and real stock market. The winners,
students who made the most profit, will be announced at our Stock Market Conference in late March 2008 (exact date TBD)
