CUNY Students Discuss Successful Project Management

On February 22, 2011 the CUNY Institute for Virtual Enterprise held their 1st Roundtable of the 9th annual Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program. The event, which took place at Baruch College’s Field Center for Entrepreneurship, gave students a practitioner’s view on project management (PM) and how principles PM can help you make your project and business ideas a success. Ms. Padma Chukka of IBM SWG who is an IBM Certified Executive Project Manager in Software Group was the featured speaker and roundtable discussion leader. She currently leads efforts that drive Smarter Planet efficiencies (such as Middle Ware Solutions, Lombardi Business Process Management) throughout client enterprises by using, and often times enhancing, its Enterprise Solutions. Throughout the discussion Ms. Chukka spoke of personal and professional experiences as well as provided valuable information on how to be successful in PM. Students also had a chance to share their business and project ideas with one another and strategized about how to best develop and manage their project ideas this semester.
