Michael Rowe, of Liberty High School in Bakersfield, CA has been named winner of CUNY IVE's Sixth Annual Stock Market Competition. Almost 1000 students participated in the two month-long contest, from around the world. Each student began with a trading budget of $10,000 to invest in the virtual and real stock market using the IVE MarketMaker (www.ivefinancial.com). With the economy still struggling and uncertainty in the global marketplace this year's competition had a very surprising ending; the students overcame the unpredictable market, welcomed the challenge, carefully made investment decisions, and successfully increased their trading portfolios.
Michael Rowe grew the value of his portfolio by more than 400 percent. IVE Associate Director, Dr. Christoph Winkler, congratulates Michael and all students on their accomplishments and is already looking forward to next year's competition.
