  POP Foodservice Training Program

The POP Foodservice Training Program was a collaboration among the Culinary Management Center of the Kingsborough Community College Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Kingsborough Continuing Education and the Parks Opportunity Program of the New York City Parks Department

Under the leadership of Kingsborough Chef-Instructor Damian Mosley, students had a summer-long immersion into food handling and food and kitchen safety, earning their New York City Food Handler Certification, National Restaurant Association ServSafe Handling Food Safely Certification and a certificate from Kingsborough Community College presented by the college President, Dr. Regina Peruggi.

Successful graduates are placed in jobs coordinated by the Parks Department and are given advanced standing if they matriculate as a Hospitality degree student at Kingsborough.

For more information about this and other programs, contact Dr. Jonathan Deutsch, Director of the Culinary Management Center at Kingsborough Community College,
