  IVE Launches Integrated Virtual Economy

Through IVE's proprietary software The MarketMaker students participate in an integrated Virtual Economy. Students explore economic developments, learn financial terms, and interact with other students and companies from all over the world. Currently, a total of 100 students from VE's across the United States are currently competing in the first IVE stock market student competition. Every participating student received a trading budget of $10,000 and is purchasing stocks (virtual and real) and creating his/her own personal stock portfolios. Trading started on February 1st, 2006 and will last until March 31st, 2006. This trading component is an extension to the company stock competition that started on November 9, 2005, after a total of fifteen Virtual Enterprises have successfully launched their companies in the IVE Virtual Stock Market. On April 5th, 2006 there will be an Annual Report Conference (online and local) in New York City to recap about the experiences of the previous six months. Of course, the winners in the various categories will be announced and awards and prizes will be given out. If you have any questions please contact Christoph Winkler at cwinkler@kbcc.cuny.edu.
