Annual Tourism Expo & VE Trading Day

The Annual Tourism Expo/Trading Day and Society for Accessible Travel and Hospitality (SATH) was held on Thursday, November 16, 2006 in the MAC Conference center at Kingsborough Community College. The event was hosted by the Tourism and Hospitality Department at Kingsborough Community College and IVE.

The day started with a SATH seminar which included a panel of industry leaders that discussed their commitment and services within the disabled community; especially in regards to Tourism & Hospitality. They also highlighted the jobs and business opportunities available within their fields. During lunch, which was sponsored by SATH, the KCC Gospel Choir performed.

Following the seminar was the very successful Tourism Expo & VE Trading Day. This portion of the event included a trade fair setting with over 21 booth displays and various attendees, including students representing Virtual Enterprises from Kingsborough Community College to Randers Business College in Denmark. On the trading floor, the VE firms had the opportunity to interact and trade with each other by using the innovative MarketMaker e-commerce interface. All firms were able to record sales and have customers use credit-cards to make electronic purchases.
